WinSport's mandate is to manage, operate and maintain Canada Olympic Park ("COP"). To provide training, coaching, competition and recreation facilities to be used by high-performance athletes, developing athletes and the community.
WinSport's world-class coaching, training and competition facilities support the ever-growing number of Canadian athletes achieving podium finishes on the global stage.
COP is home to new winter Olympic sports and to more than 15 National and Provincial Sport Organizations as well as the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary, which all support high-performance sport. COP is a year-round sport and recreation hub for Calgarians.
WinSport's annual economic impact on the City of Calgary is $120 million and the park welcomes more than 1.2 million visitors each year.

Authority  Description Decision
1. 1956 Foundation of the Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA), to bid on behalf of Calgary to host an Olympic Winter Games.
2. 1981 September 30 CODA won the bid from the International Olympic Committee for Calgary to become the host city for the XV Olympic Winter Games in 1988.
3. 1982 March 22, C82-33 Establishment of the XV Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee. The Committee will be legally separate from CODA. Transfer of responsibilities from CODA to the Organizing Committee.
4. 1988 February 13 to February 28 1988 Winter Olympics.
5. Following the Games in 1988 CODA evolved into a new vision for Canadian winter sport, with the transition to WinSport.
