Council Compensation Review Committee

Mandate:
The mandate of the Committee is to conduct an impartial review and assessment of Members of Council's Compensation Package and to provide recommendations on changes to the Compensation Package in the form of a Final Report to Council. 
Composition:
5 Citizens, appointed by resolution of Council

Special consideration will be given to candidates with one or more of the following professional experience:
 (a) municipal government;
 (b) human resources;
 (c) compensation;
 (d) business; or
 (e) law.
Special consideration will also be given to candidates who have the professional skills, experience and willingness to engage in activities which would enhance the City's diversity and inclusivity efforts.

A past municipally elected official is not eligible for appointment to the Committee unless that person has not been in a municipally held position for at least two (2) years prior to the 2019 Organizational Meeting of Council.
Term:
Ends on the date that is the earliest of:
 (i) December 31, 2020, or
 (ii) the date the Committee presents its Final Report, or
 (iii) the day before the start of the next "campaign period" as defined in the Local Authorities Election Act, R.S.A. 2000, c L-21.

3. 2002 December 16, Bylaw 46M2002 Amendment to Bylaw 31M2002 - to extend reporting date to 2003 February 28

21. 2014 November 17, PFC2014-0867 (1.) Defer appointment of a Council Compensation Review Committee (CCRC) to Organization Day 2016 to report to Council no later than 2017 May (2.) Conducted every 4 years rather than the current 3 so that the report comes forward in the last year of a term (3.) That Council receive the Council compensation review report and recommendations by July of the last year of the term (4.) Law to prepare a new CCRC Bylaw
22. 2015 July 27, C2015-0512 and Bylaw 25M2015 Council gave three readings to Bylaw 25M2015 to establish a new Council Compensation Review Committee; Council direct the City Clerk's Office to advertise for the Council Compensation Review Committee as part of the 2016 Organizational Meeting of Council.

24. 2017 May 29, CCRC2017-0508 Final report of the Council Compensation Review Committee. The committee is disbanded.
25. 2019 July 22, C2019-0788 and Bylaw 30M2019 Council gave 3 readings to Bylaw 30M2019 to establish a new Council Compensation Review Committee. Bylaw 25M2015 is repealed. Members will be appointed at the 2019 Organizational Meeting of October 28 2019.
26. 2020 November 02, C2020-1081 Final report of the Council Compensation Review Committee presented to Council; Committee is disbanded.
