Mandate:
Calgary Arts Development plays a leadership role in realizing the potential of arts and culture in Calgary. As the City's designated arts development authority, we are a central hub that learns about, promotes, connects, advocates for, and leads strategic initiatives in the arts to animate Calgary as a vibrant cultural centre. 
Composition:
1 Councillor
up to 14 Community Leaders

The election shall be by ordinary resolution.

*Community Leaders with an interest in the development of Calgary's arts and culture sector.
Term:
The elections of directors shall take place at the first Meeting of Shareholders and at each annual Meeting of Shareholders and all the directors then in office shall retire but, if qualified, shall be eligible for re-election.

Authority  Description Decision
1. 2004 December 01, CPS2004-86 Establishes Calgary Arts Development Authority. Policy implementation update & business plan. All board members, appointed by the shareholder (The City of Calgary) must be re-elected at the AGM in April each year.
2. 2006 June 19, CPS2006-34 CADA Annual Report. Begins the process of becoming Calgary's single arm's length arts authority.
3. 2007 January 08, CPS2006-78 Status report on CADA's partnership agreement back to Administration with a report to the City not later than 2007 April.
4. 2010 January 18, N2010-03 Members term correction to reflect May 2012.
5. 2013 October 21, Bylaw 40M2011 coming into force To discontinue the use of the title "Alderman" in favour of the title "Councillor".
